House P is a newly built home in the Southern suburbs of Cape Town. Our team built the entire house using our hempcrete block system, and beautiful timber beams were utilised as the substructure. To promote breathability and regulate the indoor climate, we used airPLAST and hempPLAST for plastering and airCOAT as the lime-based paint. Through a waterproof testing house constructed prior to the project, we discovered that water does not penetrate the lime-washed and lime-plastered walls. This was our biggest learning outcome from the project.
